Project Objectives
- To identify algal species with potential application in solid fuel for use in industrial application.
- To develop process engineering for algal pellets suitable for use in industrial boilers.
- To strengthen research capacity in algal biomass energy at Kathmandu University.
- To help establish industry in Nepal for biomass fuel-based product.
Expected Outcomes
- Pilot scale culture of selected algal strain.
- Production of biomass pellets and optimization.
- Study of efficiency of pellets in industrial boiler.
