State Secretary from the Ministry of International Development, Norway Ms. Biørg Sandjkaer visited Kathmandu University (KU)

The State Secretary from the Ministry of International Development, Norway Ms. Biørg Sandjkaer visited Kathmandu University on June 8, 2022. The State Secretary was accompanied by the Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Torun Dramdal and other Norwegian dignitaries. The delegates were welcomed by Vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa.

A short interaction program was held at the senate hall (KU). The Dean, Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, of the School of Engineering, extended his opening remarks. Associate Prof. Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa gave a short presentation highlighting the brief history from the initial phase to till the date of collaboration between KU and Norway. The Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, and the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, presented their remarks highlighting the importance of such collaboration. Honorable State Secretary Ms. Biørg Sandjkaer extended her remarks appreciating the work being done at Kathmandu University. The VC presented the token of love to all the delegates. The interaction program ended with the vote of thanks given by Associate Prof. Brijesh Adhikary. The overall program was organized and coordinated by the EnergizeNepal program office which was attended by KU officials, faculty members, project leaders, and staff.

The delegates participated in a short tour to The Inghe Johannessen Block, an eponymous building named in honor of a Norwegian professor, and the Turbine Testing Lab at Kathmandu University.
